WEST BULGARIA PROPERTY FOR SALE

The Western region, traversed by one of the oldest trade-routes of the Balkans - Sofia-Thessaloniki-Skopje, is most famous for its numerous mineral water springs in Kyustendil, Sapareva Banya, the villages of Nevestino and Chetirtzi.

The newest Bulgarian ski centre near Bansko is also a door to the alpine peaks and situated southwest at the foothills of the beautiful Pirin mountain range. Bansko is also located right below the Pirin National Park which is now listed in the UNESCO Convention for the Preservation of World Wildlife Heritage. The town attracts many visitors with its 120 cultural monuments and Pirin National Park itself was founded on 100,000 acres with the attraction of some of the highest Bulgarian peaks and curious wild goats. The distance from Sofia to Bansko is 160 km.

Sapareva Banya is also worthy of a visit, situated in a picturesque valley between Rila and Verila mountains along the left bank of the Dzherman River. Here you will find the hottest mineral waters in Europe (103 º C) and the only active geyser on the Balkans.

The closest international airport to this region is near the capital Sofia. Pernik is located 30 km South-West from Sofia and provides convenient road and rail connections to Sofia, Blagoevgrad, Kulata and Kyustendil. Bus and train networks are extensive around all of the regions and relatively cheap.
