Paphos has many historical points of interest with its focal point always the charming fishing harbour by Paphos Fort. The town is lined with tempting open air tavernas serving the catch of the day. The best sandy beach is known to be in the area is Coral Bay.

A short drive away is the legendary site where Aphrodite the Goddess of Love, is said to have been born. Paphos Archaeological Park is home to Roman mosaics which are some of the finest to have been discovered in the ancient world. They are said to have decorated the homes of the imperial Roman commanders who governed Cyprus 2000 years ago. Extensive excavations by archaeologists have unearthed three separate Roman villas which are now open to the public.

Other sites of historical significance around Paphos include the Tomb of the Kings, the Pillar of St. Paul, and don’t pass up the opportunity for an excursion to House of Dionyssos and Yeroskipou Village.

Golf enthusiasts won’t be disappointed. Tsada Golf Club is located just a twenty minute drive from Paphos Town. The challenging Secret Valley Golf Club is 18 km east of Paphos and 49 km from Limassol. For panoramic views, 300 metres high and over-looking the Mediterranean is the Aphrodite Hills Golf & Retreat. Its estate is two minutes from the main Limassol-Paphos highway and easily accessible from both towns. The club features an 18 hole championship standard golf course.

Cyprus Airways and British Airways offer direct, regularly scheduled flights to Paphos from London’s Gatwick Airport. Though some charter flights operate in the winter season, during the summer Excel Airways and other charter airlines offer a variety of flights from major city airports across the UK.

Paphos town centre is a 35 minute coach and 20 minute taxi transfer from Paphos International Airport.
