Property in the
Greek Islands |
|
The
real estate market in Greece has shown significant
growth during the last decade mainly due to the reduction
of interest rates, the deregulation of rents and the
increase of the living standards across the country.
The many islands of Greece provide an ideal investment
opportunity in real estate to suit every investor’s
needs.
Demand for property continues whether its land
with sea views, village houses with ocean and harbor
views, simple farm houses for restoration, new apartment
complexes, renovated town houses or luxury villas.

About
the Greek Islands
|
 |

Continued
growth is expected thanks to resulting development
from the Olympic games including
infrastructural projects such as
highways, arterial roads and the
Athens peripheral railway. New
construction and opportunities
for residential, commercial and
office real estate projects continue
to arise. Also, a recently revised
legal framework for the establishment
of real estate investment companies
marks the beginning of a new approach
and transparency for real estate
investment in the Greek market.
The goal of Sunshine Estates is
to remove the 'hassle' of seeking
a property abroad. We have found
the best English-speaking
Real Estate Agents and as
a result, we are are to offer the
widest selection of property in
the Greek Islands. Our portfolio
includes apartments, villas and
farmhouses and ranges from new
developments to resales and off-plan
investments. Among
all the Greek islands, the Cycladic
islands are some of the most
picturesque with white buildings
and bright-blue church domes,
and golden beaches meeting the
Greek aquamarine sea. The Cyclades,
part of the 30-island strong
archipelago in the Aegean, including
Mykonos, Santorini, Paros ,Delos,
Amorgos and Ios island are internationally
touristed, while others such
as Andros, Kea, Serifos and Sikinos
island, are more favorites of
the Greek population.
The islands of Mykonos and Santorini,
are probably the most renowned
for their nightlife, shopping,
restaurants and beaches. Paros,
still one of the larger Cyclades
islands, is becoming more and
more popular as a great alternative
to the busier islands of Mykonos
and Santorini. On Paros you can
still enjoy good sandy beaches
and old world traditional fishing
villages, which come with reasonably
priced hotels and a bustling
nightlife. The island’s
main port of Parikia has a ruined
Venetian castle and an impressive
Byzantine church. On the north
coast the resort town of Naoussa
is nearby the island's best beaches.

| HOW
TO GET THERE |
From London
Luton and Gatwick take Easy Jet
to Athens and change for a domestic
flight. Domestic flights are mainly
with Olympic airlines, Hellas Jet
and Aegean airlines. There are
airports at Mykonos, Santorini
and Paros. You can reach the island
of Paros by plane from most international
airports via Athens. The flying
time from Athens to Paros is about
35 minutes. During summer, many
charter flights go to the larger
Greek islands.
There are good ferry connections
between the Cyclades islands and
the mainland, and in summer, hydrofoils
and high-speed catamarans as well.
Between May and September it is
easy to island-hop, although strong
winds can upset the more sensitive
hydrofoil services.
