| The key driver for growth in the Cape Verde real estate market is inward investment in the infrastructure, most notably from the Word Bank which since 2005 has sanctioned credits of $200m. Real estate prices are still very low with double-digit
growth in recent years. Moreover, good rental returns
are possible as the tourism market increases from 150,000 to
a forecast 500,000 in
2010 (growth of 8.6% in 2005). Tourism will be stimulated by Santiago’s
new international airport and further expansions underway in Boavista
and St.Vincente. In addition, the national Cape Verde airline (TACV)
has announced the start of direct flights
to the UK from Nov’ 2006. |
