With its capital of Bratislava leading the way as the wealthiest and fastest-growing city in Slovakia, demand for residential space appears to be outstripping supply. As the area is bordered immediately to the south and west by neighbours Austria and Hungary, the demand for new apartments and houses is pushing out to frontier towns such as Kittsee, Wolfsthal, and Hainburg in Austria, and the Hungarian towns of Rajka and Dunakiliti. With residential development space around the capital limited, the move of Slovak buyers to residential areas across the borders looks set to continue.
